Who is Nora Fedoryak?
Nora Fedoryak is a 34 year old professional that has surrounded herself with horses from the age of 7. Starting off on the south shore of Montreal at Les Ecuries Gerard Fontaine, she then trained with Gerard Clayon and Lyne Martinbault into her early teens. At 15, Nora moved to Ontario to ride and work with the likes of Jay Hayes, Lisa Carlsen, David Ballard, John Pearce and Mark Hayes. Before coming back to Montreal in 2002, she stopped off in the United States, taking on riding jobs in New York and Florida. Once back on Quebec soil, Nora took a coaching job working for Anne and Brian Hodgson for 3 years... taking on everything from beginner lessons to filling in for Anne when she was away. Student numbers where high, up to 100 students a week in peak seasons giving Nora tremendous exposure to all kinds of situations. The next move brought Nora to L'Academie Equestre de Waterloo in the Eastern Townships where she obtained her Level II coaching certification. After 3 years there, Nora made the decision to move back to St.Lazare to start a freelancing endeavor, and to focus on "A" level shows. Nora currently has a presence in several riding establishments in St.Lazare. She is grateful for the wonderful opportunity she had to work at Eastwood Equine this winter, teaching for Angela Covert-Lawrence. Winter of 2007 was also a chance to ride with Cheryl Lanctot, and travel to HITS in Thermal, California with trainer Terry Brent and grand prix show jumper Kim Farlinger.
Nora has a formal education in Health Science, with a degree in Swedish Massage Therapy from Kine Concept Institute in Montreal. With a passion for school, Nora is continuing her education in a Naturotherapy program, specializing in Nourishment and Wellness for people. Her strong foundation in anatomy, physiology and wellness helps keep her in tune with both horse and rider's physical conditioning and focus. The first focus is always on the rider's security, teaching proper technique and strong basics. Next, short and long term goals are mapped out and a plan is developed that optimizes the horse and rider's advancement. Finally we focus on results in the ring, never over facing the team of horse and rider by always arriving prepared. All students are encouraged to progress towards their personal objectives in a positive learning environment.
The Knight Fox Company is represented not only by it's founder Nora Fedoryak, but by a team of other assistant riders, coaches and staff. The goal is to establish an umbrella organization based on common training methodologies, techniques, customer service and professionalism. Team members will be handpicked by Ms. Fedoryak based on their experience and ability to work in a team environment to provide top customer care. This way the company is able to have a presence in more than one place at a time. At horse shows Nora tries to have as much help as possible in order to cater to the clients needs. For the 2009 show season, we will be hiring a show manager to our team and continuing to work with Simon Dubreucq and Matthew Allard, who are both talented, up and coming riders. We are always on the look out for new talent, students as well as staff.
Who we cater to:
Our services are available to those who want to compete but also to riders who have goals outside of the horse show ring.
How the service works:
Quite simple actually. In the off season Nora, or a member of the team, make themselves available to train at the stable of your choice. During the show season, the clients meet the trainers at the show. The company also organizes outings for students to go see and participate in clinics given by some of the big guns in the sport. In addition, Nora takes ship ins and is available for clinics throughout the year. Please contact us for rates.
Testimonials:
Veerle Beljaars (Elana Thibault's Mom)
"We have known Nora since spring of 2007. She is definetely an amazing coach. What first came to our attention were her coaching skills and her ability to teach using her interpersonnal skills. She is friendly and very human oriented, something that we had not yet experienced in our horse world relations. She has taught our daughter technical skills that we had not yet seen and has given her the urge and the confidence to strive to be in the company of the best riders in our province. She is great and we enjoy her company. Thank you Nora for being a part of our horse-world family."
Natasha Balakine (Student)
"The differences you made for me are not only in my riding, you have helped me through much, much more than that. Your approach to things is amazing, and your variety of thinking and theories are very helpful. Thank you very much for everything, Natasha"
Helene Coulombe (Trainer)
"Focusing upon joy and well being are Nora`s main concerns …She fulfills our inner goal of great potential .. so wonderful to share horsemanship with you Nora!"
Amy Reid (Owner/Rider)
"Nora is the kindest most supportive coach I've ever had the pleasure of working my young horses with.
She is passionate and tons of fun!
She can be depended on to create talented riders as well as strong bonds between horse, rider and coach.
Being a level 2 coach and horse show "addict", she has a great 'scope' of knowledge as well, bonus!!"
Pascale Archambault
Guylaine Sorel
"Nora is a great person and coach. She has been amazing with us throughout this last year with the arrival of our new young horse. We appreciate her patience and respect for the animal. She is easy going but know's how to impose discipline."
Alex Sorel- Morin
"Nora takes the time to find the perfect words and metaphores for all her students to clearly understand what she wants to see from us."
